Investment Club Hosts Notable Alumna

Kirsten Roberts Bujosa '08 delivers insightful presentation
The Investment Club had the honor of hosting Kirsten Roberts Bujosa ’08 on April 2 for an insightful conversation on institutional investing and career development in finance. A graduate of The John Cooper School and Rice University, Roberts Bujosa is an Associate Director at Rice Management Company, where she helps oversee Rice’s ~$8 billion endowment.

Since joining Rice Management Company in 2015, she has supported the Chief Investment Officer and led the fixed income portfolio. Her previous experience includes roles at Mizuho Bank and The Royal Bank of Scotland in oil and gas corporate finance. She holds both a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A. from Rice.

Roberts Bujosa’s visit offered students a compelling look into the investment world and highlighted the importance of long-term strategy. As a Cooper alumna, she demonstrated how the school’s rigorous academic environment and emphasis on leadership prepare students for success beyond the classroom.

Roberts Bujosa was thrilled to return to Cooper’s campus: “It was such a special experience to return to John Cooper and speak with the Investment Club. I was incredibly impressed by the level of insight, engagement, and thoughtful questions from the students — their grasp of complex investment topics at this stage is remarkable. I’m grateful for the strong academic foundation and mentorship I received at Cooper. Being back on campus brought back so many great memories."

Her story served as a powerful reminder of the real-world impact a Cooper education can have—instilling confidence, adaptability, and a drive to lead. Students left inspired, seeing their own potential reflected in her journey.

"She was great at sharing a different side of finance with Cooper students—one that's not often talked about but incredibly valuable. Having alumni back on campus to speak to current students is always a full circle rewarding experience for all, " exclaimed Kalli Lovejoy, Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement at The John Cooper School.
