Coach Matthew Wilson: The Dragons bounced back this week with two great performances. We defeated Cypress Christian and Lake Houston with two complete team efforts. Notably, senior Mario Awasum scored his 1000th career point with a thunderous dunk in front of a roaring home crowd Friday night. Our first conference game is Tuesday against Kinkaid in the Dunlap Gymnasium. Come out and watch these guys!

Coach BJ Feuerhelm: It was good to get back on to the court after a well-deserved winter break. We wanted to use these two games to get our legs back underneath us and get ready for our conference opener on Tuesday. I’m proud of the effort shown as we embark on another SPC season.

Coach Fri Engel: After a hectic start, we looked more comfortable and confident in the second half. The girls played well defensively, but we had problems creating chances up front. Maddie Burchfiel had another great game and scored the goal for us on a free kick. We have a lot of positives to build on and hope to have everyone back healthy for the start of conference play next week.

Coach Bryan Sherman: The alumni game was a great night for both current and former Cooper players. It’s always a great game, with some great competition and a wonderful atmosphere celebrating past and present players. The boys followed it up with a big win against Cypress Christian, our final tune-up before SPC play starts. I am pleased with the progression the group is making and very excited to see how well we can perform in conference play.

VARSITY SWIM & DIVE
1/6 at TISCA (Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association) Championship
Coach John Vindiola: The Dragon Swim team competed at TISCA on Saturday. The athletes did an outstanding job, with a handful of lifetime bests and several medals! Unfortunately, results are currently unavailable due to technical difficulties, but we are very proud of how the Dragons raced. We will be back in action on Saturday at the University of Houston Natatorium.
