Bayou City Classic Music Festival

Congrats to our Middle and Upper School Bands for captivating performances!
The talented musicians of the John Cooper Middle School and Upper School bands emerged victorious at the Bayou City Classic Music Festival held on April 12th at North Shore High School in Galena Park ISD. Both ensembles delivered a captivating performance that earned them top honors.
 
Under the direction of Tony Yarbrough and Sharon Kalisek, both bands showcased a level of artistry well beyond their years.
 
The middle school band performed “Marche-Diabolique” by Brian Balmages, “Hsien” by Earl J. Fox (including outstanding solo performances by Pranjal Gupta, Divya Venugopal and Chris Wang) and “Dominion” by Randall Standridge. Their flawless delivery earned them a Superior rating from all three judges, Outstanding Performer Award and Best In Class in the 1C Category.
 
The Upper School band performed “Don Ricardo” by Gabrielle Musella, “Shepherd’s Hey” by Percy Granger/Rogers and “Viva” by Jack Wilds (including outstanding solo performances by Dylan Tao, Suri Yang, Neil Powlen and JJ Groppe). Their spectacular performance earned them a Superior rating from all three judges, Outstanding Performer Award and Best In Class in the 3A Category.
